About Me
I have been a beauty and lifestyle journalist and copy writer for over 15 years. Formerly Beauty Editor of Glamour magazine in the UK, I have also worked at many other women’s magazines such as Cosmopolitan, Red and Woman and Home. I have also more recently had beauty articles published in the likes of The Sunday Times Style, The Telegraph, Grazia, Boots Health and Beauty, Fabulous, Huff Post, The Pool, Byrdie UK and Refinery 29.
During my career, I’ve managed to pick up countless beauty tips and tricks along the way having met and interviewed numerous beauty experts. From quizzing makeup artists like Charlotte Tilbury and Lisa Eldridge and grilling hair stylists like Adam Reed and Michael Douglas, to chatting with skincare geniuses like Nichola Joss and Dr Howard Murad, every one of those conversations has contributed to my expertise today, as well as the ones I have had with many celebrities too. I have been fortunate enough to interview the likes of Kate Winslet, Liv Tyler, Kylie Minogue, Lily Allen, Leighton Meester, Alesha Dixon and Cheryl Cole about their beauty tricks. I will never forget the time I arrived at my interview with Kate Winslet and noticed we were wearing the same jacket – hers, she told me, designed by Isabel Marant and mine, I replied, bought from H&M. “Oh yes,” she said. “They do good copies.” What can I say? It was awkward. (But the double page spread of my interview with her in Glamour made it all worth it – oh the highs and lows of journalism!)
I have started at the very bottom of the magazine food chain (cup of tea anyone?) and worked hard to reach my goal of becoming a Beauty Editor, tested more products than you can shake a (lip)stick at, attended product launch after product launch, met hundreds of magazine deadlines and generated a whole hub of editorial beauty ideas. There hasn’t been a single day since starting out in journalism that I haven’t learned something about beauty. And there have been a few career ‘pinch me’ moments too. Some of these include being driven to Charlotte Tilbury’s Notting Hill home and having my makeup done in her rather fabulous sitting room, flying to Geneva with an afternoon’s notice to interview Liv Tyler in her hotel room and borrowing Bruce Springsteen’s private jet to fly to Ibiza to preview the new Juicy Couture fragrance. As you can see, it has certainly been eventful! But all those crazy experiences, conversations and my hard work have led to the fountain of knowledge I have today. And now, I really look forward to sharing that knowledge with you.
My Packages
I have put together three booking packages for you – ‘Glow’, ‘Gloss’ and ‘Glam’. They have been created with different budgets and needs in mind. Whichever one you choose, you’ll go away feeling more confident not only in knowing which products work best for you, but also in yourself.
